Dr. Adler believes there are three pillars that form the foundation of a partnership to fight cancer: knowledge, communication and heart. He prides himself on a practical and thorough understanding of the ongoing advances in cancer care, but is also highly regarded for his empathy, compassion and listening skills. Pain management is of particular concern to him.

After completing his Biology degree with cum laude honors at Harvard University, Dr. Adler earned his Medical Degree at the University of California, San Francisco. He chose Stanford University Medical School for his Fellowship in Medical Oncology after completing his Internship and Residency at The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Adler is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Society of Clinical Oncology. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Northern California Oncologists.

Prior to joining California Cancer Care, Dr. Adler was a fulltime faculty member in the Oncology Program at Stanford University Medical Center. While there, he co-founded one of the first multi-disciplinary lung cancer clinics on the West Coast. He is a recognized expert in the treatment of lung cancer and continues to be active in clinical trials and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford.

A dedicated family man, Dr. Adler enjoys traveling, skiing and hiking with his wife, also a physician, and their two children. Aside from his family, his other love is the San Francisco Giants (and almost anything baseball) although it is reported that he will accept Dodger fans as patients.
