Bobbie Head, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Head proudly proclaims her love of coming to work every day. Her joy is due in part to the personal interactions and the resulting richness of relationships that develop during a cancer journey. She provides her patients with as much support as possible and takesparticular care to provide patients with information in a context they can understand.

Dr. Head majored in English, Anthropology, and Chemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado and took graduate courses in Biology at the University of San Francisco, San Francisco, California. She completed a Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Head recognized her gift for caring for patients in addition to studying their disease pathology, and she earned her Medical Degree at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She completed her Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Kaiser Foundation Hospital, San Francisco, California. For her Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology, she chose the University of California, San Francisco .

She is actively engaged in clinical research. To date, she has been involved in over 100 ongoing clinical phase I, II, III, and IV Pharmaceutical Oncology trials as a sub-investigator. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Medical Oncology. Dr. Head sees patients in California Cancer Care's Greenbrae office.

She is actively involved in the advancement of her profession. She served on the California Breast Cancer Research Council. Also her concern for total patient care extends to all phases of life. Since 1997, she has served as Medical Director of the Hospice of Marin.

Dr. Head unabashedly professes her love for horseback riding and also skis, jogs and hikes. She doesn't exclude any outdoors activity. She adores being a mom and spending time with her husband and daughter.
